About this grant

This grant increase will enable the Leadership Conference Education Fund to carry out the second and third years of an initiative to help bridge the chasm between potential funders and antiracist organizations in order to maintain and build the momentum of this field. Work will focus on three primary areas: (1) assisting race-focused nonprofits in developing and maintaining healthy relationships with funding organizations, as well as working to tailor some of their training programs to the field of grantmaking; (2) increasing funders’ understanding of antiracist work and assisting them in assessing their institutional needs around race and diversity as it relates to grantmaking practice; and (3) assisting community leaders and their local funders in designing and implementing the most effective programs, including appropriate indicators of success, in order to document and to advance the skills of both grantseekers and grantmakers.
