About this grant
The goal of the campaign is to create a publicly responsible global financial architecture that is informed by the input of environmental and development non-governmental organizations (NGOs). During the past six years, the project has sought to develop a constructive dialogue with the Italian government, Parliament, the office of the Italian executive director to the World Bank and World Bank officials.Multiyear funding will support activities that focus on World Bank policies; the European Investment Bank; export credit agencies (ECAs); foreign direct investment; and feasibility studies for sustainable development.Recent accomplishments included making a strong case in support of the need for environmental and social criteria; encouraging consideration of social and environmental guidelines for technology transfers and development financing in the South; and reaching a broadened consensus between environmental and social NGO communities on engaging the private sector for sustainable development.
