Michigan’s Children has a reputation for building effective partnerships, coalitions and collaborations to inform the general public, opinion leaders and policymakers on issues related to children. Michigan’s Children will now be working to increase the involvement of citizens who are committed to making sustainable policy changes that will benefit children.Multiyear funding will support the creation of a leadership training academy to develop a leadership training curriculum; train leaders to become effective voices for children’s needs; provide leaders with access to national and state resources and experts in child care, education and public policy; and establish a long-term relationship with Michigan’s Children that will provide leaders with ongoing support in local and state-level policy work.Michigan’s Children is a statewide, multi-issue, independent advocacy group that acts as a voice for children. The organization works to improve the quality of life for children and their families.
