About this grant
The program goal is to increase citizens’ understanding of and influence over the decisions about European Union funding for regional development in Central and Eastern Europe. During the grant period, the National Society of Conservationists will promote the effective use of European Union Structural Funds in regional development and thorough application of the partnership principle between governments and civil society in decisionmaking related to the future allocation of funds. Also, the grantee will document and share its experiences in monitoring the European Union funding practices with a wide range of interested stakeholders, including nonprofit organizations and local authorities. In addition, the grantee will explore new funding opportunities for supporting this project in the future. The grantee will implement this program with partners in seven new member states. Past project achievements include disseminating information on good practice in sustainable regional development, supporting national watchdog networks monitoring European Union funds, and advocating for the effective and sustainable use of European Union funding.
