About this grant

The National Wildlife Federation’s Great Lakes Regional Center combines policy, legal, communications, educational, and scientific expertise to educate decision makers, inform public policy, and conduct public outreach efforts. The grantee is a leading voice for the protection and restoration of the Great Lakes. With previous support from the Mott Foundation, the grantee has led efforts to stop Asian carp from reaching the Great Lakes, advance regional strategies through the Great Lakes Water Resources Compact to prevent harmful diversions, stop pollution from phosphorus fertilizers and other chemicals, and inform federal policies to restore the Great Lakes. With renewed support, the Great Lakes office of the National Wildlife Federation will redouble its efforts around these themes.
