About this grant
Marketing and communications are critical to community foundations because they increase their asset base and in turn strengthen their ability to respond to local needs. Unfortunately, a major obstacle to community foundation marketing has been that each organization did its own work and none benefited from a large-scale visibility campaign. During the past five years, however, the Council of Michigan Foundations has developed the "For Good. For Ever." campaign to address this problem.Multiyear funding will support the replication of the campaign in California through the League of California Community Foundations. Campaign goals include developing and implementing a series of select, targeted statewide activities aimed at enhancing relationships with professional advisors; assisting individual community foundations to build or enhance professional advisor relationships; modifying and implementing the Michigan marketing portfolio; helping each community foundation increase its marketing capacity; revising the Michigan branding system; and establishing a statewide standards initiative to work with the statewide visibility initiative. The Peninsula Community Foundation provides nonprofit and public organizations with funding in support of children and families, education, housing, health and human services, the environment and community arts and culture.
