About this grant
During the past two years, the Mott Foundation supported two PolicyLink projects, a tool kit and an advocacy manual. The tool kit was developed in response to the negative impacts, particularly for communities of color, of displacement in metropolitan regions due to land use practices. The manual was created to equip local communities with concrete advocacy strategies for implementing community-centered policy reform.Funding will support the development of a capacity-building manual that will help community groups address issues such as principles and ethics, strategies, media and Internet advocacy, administrative regulations and ballot initiatives. The new manual will connect the two previous projects and be produced and designed for both print and Web use.PolicyLink is a national advocacy organization that seeks to enlarge the sphere of influence that affects policy to enable those closest to the challenges to be central to the solution.
