Key activities include facilitating networking and exchange of information and experience among the volunteer centers; providing training and technical assistance to the network; developing the network Web site; hosting an annual national conference on volunteerism; and launching a distance-learning program on volunteerism to train a network of 10 leaders capable of providing volunteer management training.During the past two years, achievements included establishing common standards and codes of ethics for all centers; hosting a national conference on volunteerism; developing training programs for volunteer centers; and promoting volunteerism by granting awards for significant volunteer contributions.
