About this grant
The Environmental Grantmakers Association (EGA) provides opportunities for grantmakers to gain stronger awareness and understanding of issues that are important to the environmental community and discuss grantmaking strategies and areas for collaboration. The Funders Network on Trade and Globalization (FNTG) works to raise the funding community’s awareness of issues surrounding globalization.Multiyear funding will support EGA activities including operations, Mott membership dues and the FNTG. Specifically, EGA will build internal capacity; continue existing programs, including the annual State of the States forum and the annual fall retreat; and launch new programs and initiatives. FNTG will support and help facilitate both formal and informal working groups around specific areas of interest; organize a delegation of at least 30 funders to participate in the International Monetary Fund and World Bank annual meetings; and begin research for a directory of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) active in trade and globalization. During the past year, the EGA held its annual retreat in Brainerd, Minnesota to address some of the more difficult challenges facing the environmental movement. Accomplishments of the FNTG included expanding its reach to a broader range of foundations; launching a Web site as a forum for foundations and NGOs to exchange information and make connections on globalization topics; and publishing and distributing a funder’s primer on globalization issues.
