San Francisco New Day for Learning

About this grant

This grant will support the San Francisco School Alliance to work in conjunction with the San Francisco Unified School District in implementing a citywide community school expansion effort. This project seeks to build upon the New Day for Learning Initiative to create a citywide model which aligns afterschool, student support services, and community schools through the development of: 1) a full service community school division within the district; and 2) a comprehensive approach to afterschool and expanded learning services that are available for students as part of a community school model. This project will provide policymakers and practitioners with tangible, visible examples of the value of strengthening the linkages between community schools, afterschool programs, and education.
