About this grant
The success of the Rosewood Development Project has encouraged the Shelter of Flint to pursue additional low-income housing projects in the city. Rosewood is a 200-acre, multifamily planned unit development consisting of 120 rental units with supportive services that help provide stable, affordable and quality housing for low-income area families, particularly for clientele of the Shelter.Funding will support activities that include conducting a market study; updating the first two phases of an environmental survey; contracting legal assistance to develop a limited partnership with the Uptown Reinvestment Corporation; fulfilling readiness to proceed requirements; and completing initial architectural design work. The Shelter, established in 1983, offers a comprehensive set of support programs and transition services that fulfill its mission of "helping homeless individuals and families work toward permanent stability."
