About this grant
For 25 years, the Social Change Assistance Trust has been working to improve the quality of life of rural people by addressing poverty through locally developed initiatives. Past support enabled the trust to make grants to local, community-based development agencies and provide hands-on organizational development support and mentoring to these organizations. This grant will support the grantee to continue to provide financial resources, training, and hands-on support to between 50 and 60 local, community-based development agencies in the rural areas of the Eastern, Western, and Northern Cape provinces, as well as the Northwest and Free State provinces. Its interventions will address HIV/AIDS, local economic development, access to justice, gender equity, and food security.
