About this grant
The Social Change Assistance Trust, established in 1985, currently supports 68 rural advice offices in the Western, Eastern and Northern Cape Provinces. The trust provides the advice offices with financial support and organizational capacity to help them promote community change. The trust also works to raise the profile of advice offices with the national government.Multiyear funding will support objectives that include increasing the number of advice offices from 68 to 75; continuing core programs such as a development training fund, an HIV/AIDS pilot program and a fundraising incentive strategy; and providing networking workshops at the provincial level.Since 2000, the trust has provided more than R36 million in grants to advice offices and supported community development initiatives, information and access to local government resources.
