About this grant

This grant to the South Carolina Afterschool Alliance will enable the South Carolina Afterschool Alliance to increase access to high quality afterschool and summer programs in South Carolina. Through this grant, the network will focus on increasing access to quality programming for youth in rural areas of the state by: 1) serving as the information hub for education stakeholders to support improved afterschool opportunities in rural areas; 2) providing technical assistance, best practices, and research to school districts in support of high quality afterschool programing; and 3) designing and establishing a new quality improvement system in South Carolina. The network will provide valuable lessons to other state networks in supporting youth and rural communities through afterschool and summer learning programs.
