About this grant

The two-hour documentary on the life and legacy of Dr. Ralph Bunche, the Detroit-born Nobel Peace Prize winner, undersecretary-general of the United Nations, and African American statesman and scholar, has been distributed to schools, colleges, universities, libraries and other educational institutions and special interest groups throughout the United States.Funding will provide educational outreach support for a series of 14 videos on Dr. Bunche. The video modules, averaging 30 minutes each, will be available to teachers and other professionals as part of a total curriculum package that includes the two-hour documentary, "Ralph Bunche: An American Odyssey." The modules offer a more comprehensive look at Bunche’s life and work by exploring major themes and historical events in greater depth than the film.
