About this grant

The Visiting Scholar-Practitioner program was created to provide opportunities for retired nonprofit sector leaders to share their skills with other nonprofit organizations. The program enables retirees to not only continue their professional and individual development, but also provide a service to the broader community.Multiyear funding will enable the current visiting scholar-practitioner to continue helping small, nonprofit agencies with organizational development, fundraising and "coaching" assistance. The visiting scholar-practitioner will be provided an office location, some research assistance and administrative support by the Union Institute. In turn, the scholar-practitioner will serve as a resource person for faculty and students in the institute’s post-graduate programs.
