About this grant

In November 2003, the Forum of Regional Associations of Grantmakers established a National Accountability Task Force to respond to recent legal and ethical challenges posed by policymakers and the media. One of the task force’s objectives is to provide foundations with technical assistance in completing required 990-PF forms.Funding will support the development of two Web-based guides and three teleconference sessions on how to complete correctly the 990-PF tax forms. The first guide, written in user-friendly language, is intended for the foundation official who will be reviewing and signing the form. The second guide includes more technical information and is designed for the accountant or finance staff person who typically prepares the form. The teleconference component will consist of three, 90-minute sessions covering the most common errors in completing the forms, as well as answering participants’ questions. The forum is a membership organization dedicated to promoting philanthropy by inspiring and enhancing the leadership and capacity of regional associations of grantmakers.
