About this grant

The goal of the Vital Voices Global Partnership is to ensure the full participation of women in the development of their countries.Multiyear funding will enable the partnership to deliver a series of three-week leadership institutes to be held at Georgetown University and conduct a public awareness campaign on the global problem of human rights abuses. Courses will focus on leadership skills, organizational development, project management, developing effective partnerships and utilizing technology. Updated information on critical issues and resources will be provided to women leaders to use in their communities. In addition, a Web site, to link women around the world, is currently under development. The partnership, launched in the spring of 2001, is a group of 10,000 women from 80 countries in every region of the world. Members include business leaders, political leaders, labor and human rights advocates and leaders of non-governmental organizations.
