About this grant

The Wisconsin Wetlands Association was established in 1969 to provide educational and training activities to protect wetland resources in the state.Multiyear funding will support activities that include expanding communications and outreach capabilities throughout the state; creating a graduate student internship program to research major wetland issues of statewide concern; promoting sound wetland policies by sharing research findings with state conservation agencies; building relationships with leaders in land development to advocate for wetlands protection; and participating in the Waters of Wisconsin project.Recent accomplishments included supporting a number of policies to protect and preserve the state’s wetlands; conducting educational efforts such as workshops, an online directory and teacher’s guides; and serving as the state hub for the Great Lakes Aquatic Habitat Network and Fund.
