Environment

We support programs around the world that protect communities and the ecosystems upon which they depend.

A young Black man wearing a gray hoodie and plastic glove stands on a beach holding a large orange bucket that he is using during a cleanup.

How it Works

We partner with groups in North America and around the world to advance the cause of sustainability.

A young woman in a yellow headscarf and dress with geometric patterns stands in front of a stack of sodas and a large freezer.

For more than three decades, the Mott Foundation’s Environment program has supported stewardship of the world’s natural resources. This work has taught us that such grantmaking must seek practical ways to simultaneously build strong economic, environmental and social conditions for all people — in a word, sustainability.

When the environment is healthy, we all benefit.
