About this grant
The project goal is to raise awareness about digital rights and the digital civic space in Africa in order to build a rights-respecting, inclusive and innovation-friendly digital policy environment in Africa. To this end, Paradigm Initiative plans to produce and publish in-depth research that informs discussions and policies; and convene internet freedom activists and other stakeholders to share experiences, learn and collaborate on areas of common interest. The grantee was established in 2008 to connect underserved African youth to digital opportunities while ensuring their rights are protected. In addition, the grantee produces research that informs advocacy efforts focused on the development of public policies for internet freedom in Africa. Headquartered in Nigeria, Paradigm Initiative has offices in Cameroon, Kenya, Senegal, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
