About this grant
Hlanganisa Community Fund NPC’s goal is to increase access to justice for poor and marginalized people in South Africa. To this extent, the grantee plans to continue supporting a network of community advice offices with resources to provide quality justice services. The grantee also plans to address systemic gender and youth marginalization by empowering women and youth in advice offices with leadership capabilities, while building these offices to be secure and sustainable. The grantee will pilot a roving paralegal clinic in areas where there are no advice offices. Past support has helped the grantee to increase the number of advice offices it supports while deepening its accompaniment to these offices. It also successfully raised funds from other sources to support its work with community organizations. Hlanganisa Community Fund NPC is a leading grantmaker for community organizations in South Africa and has extensive reach in rural areas, where in many instances, advice offices are the only institutions providing free justice services.
