About this grant
Loughborough University, a recognized institution of higher learning in the United Kingdom, supports the ACCESS Coalition, which aims to coordinate action by civil society organizations working to deliver universal energy access. With this increase, the grantee will extend its support for the ACCESS coalition for one additional year and further strengthen its ability to convene and lead African civil society efforts to guide national and regional development finance institutions away from fossil fuels and towards distributed renewable energy solutions. In addition, Loughborough University will support the ACCESS Coalition in recruiting a new advocacy and research officer to support data-based campaigns on increasing investment for energy access in Africa, targeting the World Bank and the African Development Bank.
