About this grant
The project goal is to strengthen the capacities, readiness and participation opportunities for national and regional civil society organizations to tackle the security-related drivers of a shrinking civic space in West Africa. To achieve this, Spaces for Change advocated for the correct implementation of global anti-money laundering standards, as well as countering the financing of terrorism standards by states, businesses, security agencies, regulators, legislatures and financial institutions. This included conducting research, providing training, convening various actors and providing technical support to governments. This grant will support the grantee to extend its support to countries within the region that lack the technical capacity to undertake terrorism financing risk assessments of the nonprofit sector. Spaces for Change was established to uphold and protect human rights in all aspects of life by increasing community participation in the development of social and economic policy.
