About this grant

The African Centre for Media Excellence is a nonprofit organization providing media support services in Africa. With previous support from the Mott Foundation, the organization has directly benefited over 400 journalists and media practitioners with various media support services including the production of articles, podcasts, social media and other related products and offerings. The organization also undertook journalist training, media monitoring and research on the productive use of solar energy services in East Africa. Furthermore, the organization designed and completed a social and behavior change pilot program on the productive use of solar energy services in the Dodoma region of Tanzania. With additional support, the organization will continue its media support by enhancing the strategic communication capabilities of journalists, media outlets, nonprofits and other key partners on the productive use of solar energy services. African Centre for Media Excellence will also publish its own articles to facilitate more public engagement and awareness on the productive use of solar energy services in East Africa.
