About this grant
The Connecting Communities in the Americas, managed by CFLeads, is an initiative that has the mission of inspiring and strengthening community foundations and partners for local impact as they address issues that transcend borders. Since 2016, over 200 organizations have participated in Connecting Communities in the Americas, including 150 community foundations from 13 countries in North, Central and South America. Over 2024 and 2025, the initiative supported community foundations with: 1) new mapping; 2) action and learning exchange grants; 3) virtual peer learning activities; 4) the creation and dissemination of learning products; and 5) conducting in-person convenings in Brazil and the United States. A grant increase will allow for the continuation of the initiative in light of a reduction in funding from the Inter-American Foundation and the transition of the initiative to a new organizational host in 2026. CFLeads is a U.S.-based national network of community foundations committed to community leadership.
