About this grant

The goal of the African Philanthropy Forum is to strengthen philanthropy in Africa by building a community of partners who, through their strategic giving, investments and influence, foster shared prosperity on the African continent. Past support has enabled the grantee to convene high-net-worth individuals, corporate funders and social investors to explore ways to respond effectively to regional issues. In addition, the grantee has expanded membership to the Middle East and North Africa region, contributed to thought leadership and research on philanthropy in Africa and partnered with other like-minded organizations to strengthen the philanthropy ecosystem in Africa. Over the next two years, the grantee will cultivate the next generation of African philanthropists, diaspora givers and corporate giving to increase the flow of resources and support to proximate organizations responding to immediate and long-term needs in communities. The grantee will leverage technology to unlock funding for nonprofits through an online platform that connects organizations to funders. The African Philanthropy Forum is based in Lagos, Nigeria.
