About this grant
The project goal is to increase the activism capacity of community paralegals to be able to advocate for systemic solutions to systemic injustices. To this end, Tshisimani Centre for Activist Education will redefine its offerings to dig deeper into how it could reach sustained impact of its work. It plans to research and develop a new curriculum, test said curriculum and introduce a two-year education offering for community paralegals that is geared towards learning from different sectors and building solidarity. Past support has helped the grantee to implement its education offerings to both community paralegals and grassroots activists across South Africa. The Tshisimani Centre for Activist Education was established in 2015 with the mandate to assist activists in building their own capacities, using creative means to elevate injustices and seeking solutions to addressing them.
