About this grant
The American Conversations Project is a coordinated national effort to bring together civic organizations, local partners and national media to support an estimated 10,000 conversations across the country and synthesize what Americans are saying as the country commemorates its 250th anniversary. A significant part of the project will be the Civic Listening with Community Foundations initiative, through which up to 100 community foundations will host an estimated 2,500 conversations. These conversations will be analyzed and synthesized into local insights that will form the basis for community foundations to launch building common ground efforts. The project and associated initiative will be implemented by the National Conference on Citizenship, which was founded in 1946 and chartered by Congress in 1953 to support American democracy and the ideals of citizenship.
