About this grant
Michigan faces many water resource challenges, including inadequate infrastructure funding, toxic contamination and uneven access to safe and affordable drinking water. These challenges are deeply interconnected and without coordinated, forward-looking policy leadership, they will continue to compound. Over the next two years, with partial Mott Foundation funding, the Michigan League of Conservation Voters Education Fund will lead a nonpartisan education program aimed at ensuring that infrastructure, toxic contamination, affordability and natural resource protection are treated as a unified “source to tap” challenge requiring integrated solutions. The education fund, a well-established statewide group, has years of experience informing Michigan citizens and policymakers about water issues and other environmental challenges.
