About this grant

The Justice Data Observatory is a global initiative of the American Bar Foundation focused on building evidence to promote people-centered access to justice globally. In the period 2026-28, the Justice Data Observatory will seek to grow its existing work and mandate through convening groups of researchers, policymakers and practitioners across low, middle and high-income countries, with a particular focus on deepening Global South participation. It will also: 1) develop innovative and policy-relevant approaches to shared research questions on people-centered access to justice; 2) support the production and dissemination of original research findings and evidence through online and offline publications, research papers and policy briefs; and 3) advocate for evidence-based approaches to people-centered justice policy and practice, including through global outreach and partnerships with core partners such as the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and the World Bank.
