About this grant
Oil Change International works to create the conditions necessary for a just and equitable fossil-fuel-free world. It employs research, data transparency, and advocacy to accelerate the shift of public finance away from fossil fuels and toward renewable energy and facilitate a just energy transition. Its Public Finance for Energy Database has tracked public investment in the energy sector over the past 20 years, providing high-quality data to international policymakers and civil society. With prior Mott Foundation support, the grantee successfully called for a significant reduction in multilateral bank investment in fossil fuels. This grant will support Oil Change International in defending recent gains toward ending fossil fuel finance, preventing backsliding and strengthening energy transition finance policies within national development banks.
