About this grant
Latinoamérica Sustentable — a project of the Bank Information Center — works to strengthen the accountability of international financial institutions and partners with organizations in South America to monitor Chinese investments in sectors critical to the energy transition. With prior Mott Foundation support, the grantee strengthened its ability to monitor and document adverse project impacts and developed strong relationships with key institutions such as the Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank and the Chinese Chamber of Commerce for Metals, Minerals and Chemicals Importers and Exporters. With renewed support, Latinoamérica Sustentable will continue its monitoring, advocacy, partner coordination, and capacity building focused on improving environmental and social governance standards for Chinese overseas investments linked to critical minerals and the global energy transition.
