About this grant
The Hague Institute for Innovation of Law will conduct a nationally representative Justice Needs and Satisfaction Survey in Sierra Leone. The survey will seek to measure the prevalence and impact of civil, administrative and criminal justice problems, the formal and customary pathways people use, the costs and barriers they experience, and the outcomes they achieve. The institute will work with the Ministry of Justice, national partners and a stakeholder reference group to adapt the questionnaire to Sierra Leone’s legal and cultural context. Results of the survey will be analyzed alongside the existing Justice Financing Framework to identify service gaps, expenditure priorities, cost-effectiveness opportunities and a baseline for future reform. Established in 2005, the Hague Institute for Innovation of Law seeks to find innovative solutions to justice problems around the world.
