About this grant
Repórter Brasil is a Brazilian nonprofit that uses investigative journalism and data analysis to help ensure that environmental laws and land rights are upheld. Weak land governance in the Amazon, including illegal land claims and overlapping land records, threatens forests and the rights of Indigenous Peoples and Traditional Communities. Over the grant period, Repórter Brasil will enhance its database of rural property registrations to track land tenure and compliance with environmental protection rules. The grantee and partner groups will use the data to make the case for improved land governance and territorial protection.
