About this grant

This project supports the World Wildlife Fund in expanding clean energy access for communities in the Brazilian Amazon through coordinating civil society organizations and working with government agencies on off-grid solar energy. With this grant increase, the grantee will promote the use of electric-powered boats using solar energy. This will support sustainable livelihoods and reduce dependence on fossil fuels. Activities include mapping existing initiatives, assessing financing opportunities and bringing together government, technical, private-sector and civil society partners to identify priorities and coordinate action. The project will also develop practical recommendations for communities to adopt electric mobility.
