About this grant
Amazon Watch is an environmental and human rights organization that partners with Indigenous peoples to protect the Amazon rainforest and defend territorial rights. This grant will support Indigenous-led efforts to address the potential social and environmental impacts of mining projects in the Amazon through technical assistance, strategic communications and engagement with key actors. The grantee will strengthen coordination among Indigenous organizations and civil society groups and facilitate exchanges with other communities affected by mining. The project aims to reinforce territorial protection while generating lessons and forging partnerships that can inform broader efforts to address mining expansion in Indigenous territories across the Amazon basin.
