About this grant
The Illinois Environmental Council Education Fund has over 150 affiliate members working to protect water resources in the state, including the Lake Michigan basin. As part of its Clean Water Program, the grantee builds coalitions and educates the public and decision-makers about pressing water issues. With previous support from the Mott Foundation, the grantee raised awareness and made progress on several issues facing the state and region, including lead service line replacement, plastic pollution and invasive species. With renewed support, the Illinois Environmental Council Education Fund will further the goals of its Clean Water Program with a focus on safe and affordable drinking water.
