Developing Community Foundations in Peru

About this grant

The project goal is to develop community foundations in Peru. Over the past two years, Mosaico Laboratorio Creativo’s Comuna Nación program: 1) introduced the community foundation concept to 789 public, private and civic leaders; 2) supported seven legally constituted community foundations; and 3) pursued three new regions as potential sites for new community foundations. Over the next two years, the grantee will: 1) expand the community foundation movement in Peru in four new territories; 2) strengthen the institutional and fundraising capacity of existing community foundations; and 3) diversify Comuna Nación’s sustainability strategy and bolster its role as Peru’s community foundation support organization. Established in 2017, Mosaico Laboratorio Creativo was created to develop initiatives and organizations working in the social, educational, cultural and artistic fields to motivate citizens in Peru to work collaboratively in favor of those most in need.
