Youth Entrepreneurship Policy Study and Report

About this grant

This grant will support the Center for an Urban Future in researching, producing and disseminating a comprehensive policy report on youth entrepreneurship in New York City as a response to declining entry-level employment opportunities for young people. Through quantitative analysis, stakeholder interviews, focus groups and a review of promising programs nationwide, The grantee will: 1) document the need for greater investment in youth entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education; 2) assess the current landscape of resources, supports and service gaps for young entrepreneurs in New York City; 3) identify and elevate effective youth entrepreneurship models that could be replicated and scaled; 4) develop policy research to expand entrepreneurship pathways and supports for young people; and 5) drive awareness of those research findings through report dissemination, stakeholder engagement, media outreach, advocacy efforts, and a public policy forum involving policymakers, practitioners, funders, educators, and youth entrepreneurs.
