Why it Matters
Kids are the budding creators, problem-solvers and leaders we need for a thriving workforce and society. Entrepreneurship education equips them with the skills, mindset and confidence needed to navigate and shape the future economy.
Our Approach
We support an approach that prepares young people for an uncertain, fast-changing future while centering their voices.
We have two strategies to achieve our goals:
Strengthening Flint and Genesee County as a model community for youth entrepreneurship and leadership.
Our grant funding supports:
- A network of entrepreneurship educators, mentors and programs to increase access to entrepreneurial experiences for young people in Flint.
- Work with national partners to develop flexible, high-quality programs and experiences.
- Efforts to promote the Flint and Genesee County community as a leader in youth development and leadership.
Expanding access to entrepreneurship experiences and education for young people nationally.
Our grant funding supports:
- Training for educators and mentors in entrepreneurial and leadership principles.
- Research, evaluation and learning to assess the impact of youth entrepreneurship.
- Scaling model programs nationally to increase entrepreneurship education and experiences for youth.
Leadership can take many forms. Leaders can be chief executive officers, executive directors of a small business or nonprofit organization or neighborhood residents who have the respect and backing of their communities.”![William White headshot.]()
