About this grant
The Education and Training Unit provides training and capacity building to civil society organizations and local government entities around issues of HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment. This program focuses on improving the interface and coordination of services to HIV/AIDS victims at the grassroots level among local government, business, and civil society through development of resource materials, information sharing, training, and building the capacity of those providing services to AIDS victims. Past activities included convening two national training workshops and many community workshops; updating and distributing pertinent manuals; and using a Web site to inform policymakers and service providers. Future plans include continuation of training and capacity-building efforts in 100 municipalities and emphasizing greater involvement of HIV/AIDS clients in the development of strategies and activities.
