About this grant

This grant will enable the Alaska Community Foundation (ACF) to build its organizational capacity with a focus on governance, executive leadership and endowment building. Currently, Alaska is the only state without a viable community foundation.Multiyear funding will support objectives that include increasing staff; providing training and networking opportunities for the board; diversifying composition of the board; increasing outreach to professional financial advisors and the public; purchasing and integrating new information management technology; improving communications; and developing community-based funds.ACF was incorporated as the Community Foundation of Greater Anchorage in 1995. Its mission is to nurture philanthropy, build permanent community resources, and provide funding and leadership on issues that affect Alaskan communities.
