About this grant

Under the fiscal sponsorship of the International Community Foundation, Connecting Communities in the Americas is an initiative that brings together community foundations, philanthropy serving organizations and other partners across the Americas committed to strengthening local impact through shared learning and collaboration. Since 2016, the initiative has engaged over 600 participants and more than 260 organizations across 13 countries. Over the past three years, activities have included monthly virtual peer resource-sharing events, annual convenings, publications and grants for mapping, pilot projects and learning exchanges. Over the next three years, this initiative will support: 1) network coordination; 2) community research projects; 3) learning exchange subgrants; 4) travel stipends; 5) publication of a multilingual learning document; 6) monthly virtual peer resource sharing sessions; and 7) activity interpretation services. Founded in 1990, the International Community Foundation is located in National City, California, and focuses on strengthening humanity through community, primarily by connecting donors and stakeholders in the United States with nonprofits in Latin America.
