About this grant
The goal of the project is to support the development of community foundations in Uganda. Previous support enabled CivSource Africa to support a cohort of 18 community foundation initiatives by providing customized training on leadership, resource mobilization and grantmaking. In addition, the grantee exposed the initiative groups to other programs and groups to strengthen their institutional capacity. Over the next two years, the grantee will introduce a group of leaders and community groups to the community foundation concept, build on the support provided to existing groups and support the emergence of a community of practice. Based in Kampala, CivSource Africa was established in 2017 to refine the practice and footprint of philanthropy in Uganda and the rest of Africa.
