About this grant
The project goal is to strengthen and expand the community foundation field in southern Africa, with a particular focus on South Africa. To achieve this goal, SGS Consulting will consolidate support to community foundation support organizations in select countries in the region. This shift will enable the grantee to expand and deepen its community foundation development efforts in South Africa, building on progress made in the last two years. Additionally, the grantee will engage a diverse group of funding institutions to expose them to the opportunities community foundations provide to achieve community development goals and unlock funding. Past support enabled SGS Consulting to identify initiative groups in three provinces in South Africa, work with them to become community foundations and support regional work in five countries.
