About this grant
The project goal is to promote digital security and comprehensive protection for organizations and individuals working to defend civic space and human rights in Central America and Mexico. To this end, Fundacion Acceso will: 1) adopt a holistic protection approach to support civil society actors through its Digital Protection School; 2) provide technical assistance and training; 3) develop innovative learning and communities of practices; and 4) support networks and collaborative knowledge exchange at the local and regional levels. In addition, the grantee will review its organizational risk analysis and strengthen its technological infrastructure and systems. These efforts build on the achievements from the previous grant period, which included providing digital protection support to more than 40 civil society organizations in the region. Fundacion Acceso was founded in 1992 to build the capacity of civil society organizations in Central America and Mexico. Over the years, its work has taken on different priorities based on the needs of organizations in the region.
