About this grant
This grant will support the Afterschool Alliance to continue deploying AmeriCorps Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) members for the growth and sustainability of statewide afterschool networks and their partners. Dedicated to the efforts of improving the afterschool networks and programs for underserved communities and families, the grantee’s VISTA project has been instrumental in expanding quality programming for young people. This grant will: 1) support the VISTA project in afterschool networks to address childhood hunger and nutrition; 2) introduce and expand quality STEM learning; 3) mitigate impacts of substance misuse; 4) strengthen academic supports for student recovery; and 5) produce an impact and evaluation report on the VISTA program.
