About this grant

ODI-Global will consolidate research into people-centered justice reforms in lower-income countries in order to identify learning, scaling and financing opportunities. Drawing on extensive research carried out to this point, the grantee will work to systematize available information for funders and policy makers to support clearer understanding of justice funding choices. Particular attention will be given to developing and disseminating a policy framework for financing frontline justice services. In 2024-25 and following previous detailed investigations of justice delivery in over a dozen countries in Africa and Asia, the grantee focused attention on the development of a draft financing framework for frontline justice services. The framework and supporting background materials, developed by the grantee and partner organizations within the Justice Action Coalition, represent the most comprehensive case for funding people-centered justice. Established in 1960 and based in the United Kingdom, ODI-Global works to inspire people to act on injustice and inequality through research, convening and advocacy.
