About this grant

This grant will help to support the development of community foundations in Ukraine. Initially established in 2014, the National Network of Local Philanthropy Development in Ukraine became active in 2019 as a full-fledged community foundation support organization. The Networks mission is to advance the culture of philanthropy through community foundations as local leaders of sustainable development in Ukraine. Over the past 18 months, the Network grew its membership from 15 to 22 community foundations, and also added four more Youth Bank Initiatives, bringing the total to 28. Key objectives for the next two years are: 1) to develop and implement a certification system for community foundations; 2) design and implement a financial sustainability model for both community foundations and the Network; and 3) to advocate for local philanthropy by strengthening the community foundation brand and helping to develop a more favorable policy environment. The National Network of Local Philanthropy Development in Ukraine anticipates adding 10 new community foundations and 10 new Youth Bank Initiatives by the end of 2027.
